After getting off to a dreadful start, the Philadelphia 76ers are one of the hottest teams in the NBA.
Philadelphia had even made up ground on the New York Knicks despite their trade for Carmelo Anthony.
Forward Elton Brand attributed the team’s turnaround to tremendous coaching and the growth of the younger players.

The Philadelphia 76ers have hired Rod Thorn as their team president.
For Thorn, the new job is not so different or far from the old one. Thorn held the same position with the New Jersey Nets.
He decided to leave the Nets when the new Russian ownership group took over, but wanted to still be involved with the NBA.
Thorn will move above general manager Ed Stefanski, who he worked with for six seasons in New Jersey. ( Read More…)

Philadelphia 76ers rookie guard Evan Turner was a big disappointment in summer league play.
Turner showcased bad body language, looked out of shape and simply didn’t make many good plays.
However, the 76ers are not concerned given the amount of time Turner spent away from the game following the end of the season.
Turner played very little basketball for the three month period between the end of his team’s NCAA tournament run and the start of the NBA summer league. ( Read More…)

The Philadelphia 76ers selected Ohio State guard Evan Turner with the No. 2 pick in the NBA Draft.
It was unknown what the 76ers would do with his pick, and speculation raged on for several weeks.

The Philadelphia 76ers have traded center Samuel Dalembert to the Sacramento Kings for Andres Nocioni and Spencer Hawes.
Dalembert was unhappy with his role last year and asked to be traded, so it looks like he got his wish.
